Charles Schwab Corporation is one of the nation’s leading providers of financial services ‐ providing securities
brokerage, banking, and money management services to individual investors, independent investment advisors,
and corporate and retirement plan sponsors and participants. Just Plans Etc receives no compensation from
Charles Schwab & Co, but utilizes them as an important business, technology, and investment platform provider.
Between Just Plans Etc and Charles Schwab, you have access to your investments 24/7/365.

Every relationship is unique and every investor’s needs are unique. Therefore, we sometimes make exceptions

Jim Ellman, ChFC – Founder & President
Jim founded Just Plans Etc. in 1983 and has been in the financial services industry since 1967. Jim earned a BS in
Finance from U.C. Berkeley in 1964. From 1964 – 1966, Jim served in the U.S. Army stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
He began offering fee‐based investment advisory services in 1991 and is a Chartered Financial Consultant.
Barry Mendelson, CFP® ‐ Financial Advisor
Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Barry was a Vice President with Charles Schwab & Co. in the company's $245
billion investment management division advising leading investment advisors, banks, and other financial
institutions on investments. During his more than 15 years in the industry, Barry held similar positions with the
AXA Rosenberg Group, Neuberger Berman, and Franklin Templeton Investments.
Barry is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, having earned a Certificate in Financial Planning in 2004 and
is a board member of the Financial Planning Association of the East Bay and an active member of the Estate
Planning Council of Diablo Valley. Born and raised in Northern California, Barry graduated from Campolindo
High School in Moraga and earned a BA degree in Business Economics from U.C. Santa Barbara. He founded
